Lackluster snow conditions did not discourage skiers, snowshoers and walkers for candlelight ski event

imageStubborn luminaries did not dampen the spirits of determined silent sports fans for the fifth annual Candlelight Ski Event sponsored by Friends of Stower Seven Lakes State Trail. There was an enthusiastic turnout and many just gathered around the fire or pavilion sipping on hot chocolate and cider.

Since I was in the hot chocolate truck taking in all the activity I can tell you there was no shortage of conversation.

I loved watching all the kids. They were so polite—I couldn't get over it.

As a grandmother, that is so nice to see. Also seeing people of all ages and abilities out there is just heart warming. I think some folks like to just come out and visit and the moderate temperature made it a great opportunity. One fellow, a retired Navy Seal, had important stories to share about his wartime training and experiences. Two women I photographed, just enjoyed walking along the candlelit trail.
